This
system created a video and two way audio link from medical
labs to a remote lecture theatre to provide a live link and
teaching facility at a leading clinic.
The
system brought all imagery and sound from the labs to a local
hub. A remote lecture theatre, and a separate remote conference
room request live links to be set using a 'request and response'
messaging protocol.
Establishing
a live link 'locks out' the other potential audience, while
the Professor can monitor all images and sound from his office.
The
clinic hosts international conferences and used to hire in
specialist TV crews for the job. The system takes the place
of the TV crew and has to perform impeccably. There is no
room for error, and each system function has to be presented
in the clearest possible manner. Certain security features
also look after patient privacy.
The
system has to work without any input from an AV technician.
It has now hosted several important conferences without problems.
Users
have control over cameras, and can use picture in picture
facilities to tailor the presentations.
The
hub can be set to make automatic recordings which follow the
links as they are made.
Moving
message signs inside the labs inform the clinical staff that
they are live on camera.
